Relentless: A poem about the pain of depression

The soul is heavy, weighed down with grief, As darkness consumes, like a suffocating thief.

The mind is shrouded with a heavy fog, A sense of purpose feels like a distant slog.

Days pass by in an endless blur, As emotions fluctuate with a torrid stir.

It's as if the world has lost its hue, And the joy of life a distant view.

Sleep becomes a refuge, a place of peace, Escaping the pain, a fleeting release.

But waking up to the same old ache, Only deepens the despair we can't shake.

The weight of depression is a burden heavy, An ongoing struggle, unrelenting and seemingly never-ending.

But know that hope can be found in the darkness, And with support and care, we can find our way to harness it.
